Our Story

Our name not only calls to mind the natural environment of our property, it symbolizes our two guiding principles:

“Work hard” and
“Enjoy the fruits of your labor.”

Without intentional respite, work is a fruitless endeavor. Founders Angela and James Sehr have a passion for wellness. They began the winery as an extension of their life’s work; both having spent their careers in the medical industry.  Similarly, they enjoy helping people through times of injury or illness. Twin Rocks Estate Winery is a place for connecting with family, friends, neighbors and yourself. It’s a place for both peaceful contemplation and spirited celebration, all while enjoying fantastic wine. It’s a good-for-the-soul getaway at the gateway to the Sierras.

Our Founders

Our Founders, Angela and Dr. Jim Sehr, came to the vineyard after long and fulfilling careers in the medical field.

Angela spent almost 40 years as a registered nurse, 20 of which were caring for sick children. After coming to California, she continued her nursing career—eventually founding and leading what became one of the largest privately-held home health and hospice providers in California. Above all, she’s known for her high-quality standards in both her personal and professional lives.

Dr. Jim Sehr practiced medicine as an orthopedic surgeon for 30 years. He felt privileged to be able to help his patients regain their lives after illness or injury.

They both view wine as a natural continuation of their life-long devotion to health and wellness. Hence, they are eager to share the many health and life-enhancing benefits of the fruit of the vine.

Sustainable Farming

Northern California. Because of the perfect Mediterranean climate and well-draining soil, the estate can dry-farm. Therefore, they use less water during irrigation. This sustainable farming practice is a trusted technique for producing high-quality fruit and wines with complex, intense flavors.
